Obituary

Bernard "Billy" Ira Specter, 86, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026.

Born on February 15, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Billy was the beloved son of the late Herbert Louis Specter and Miriam Selma Specter (née Rubin).

Billy was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Gloria Bader Specter, with whom he shared 59 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a loving family and created countless cherished memories.

A proud graduate of Olney High School's Class of 1958, Billy excelled in both baseball and football and remained a lifelong sports enthusiast. Following high school, he served his country in the National Guard, completing active duty from 1959 to 1960 and continuing in the reserves for several years thereafter.

Billy began his career working in the family business, Economy Dress, before pursuing a long and successful career as a Construction Supervisor with Kasco Construction. He was respected for his strong work ethic, leadership, and dedication throughout his career until his retirement.

Above all, Billy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his daughters, Jodi Specter and her husband, Joe Keats, of New Hope, Pennsylvania, and Jami Pearlman and her husband, Steven Pearlman, of Ivyland, Pennsylvania. He was the proud and loving grandfather of Tyler Pearlman and Troy Pearlman, who brought him tremendous joy.

Billy was an avid fan of Philadelphia sports and faithfully followed the Eagles, Phillies, and Sixers throughout his life. Whether cheering from the stands or watching from home, he shared his passion for sports with family and friends and celebrated both victories and defeats with unwavering loyalty.

Billy was also a devoted dog lover, with a special place in his heart for his beloved bulldog Mavis, who brought him years of companionship, happiness, and unconditional love.

Billy will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and unwavering devotion to his family. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the many lives he touched.

Funeral services will be private. The family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to American Bulldog Rescue, PO Box 518, Newtown, PA 18940.
