BERNARD RUTBERG

RUTBERG
BERNARD RUTBERG, 91, of Phila. (formerly of Ventnor, NJ), on March 19, 2012. Loving son of the late Isaac Rutberg and Sarah Rutberg. Loving husband for 67 years of Bernice Rutberg (nee Wagner). Loving father of Jeffrey (Robin) Rutberg and Donald (Marcia) Rutberg. Loving grandfather of Lia Rutberg. Loving brother-in-law of Fred Wagner. Loving brother of the late Esther Wexler. His 1938 N.E. High School yearbook stated, "Bernie is a lively fellow" and he sure was. His motto was, "Volunteer to help people in need, before they even asked for help." He was on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation, was head of the Allied Jewish Appeal Drive in the garment industry and was honored by the State of Israel. He was on the Board of Directors of the Manufacturers Assoc. and Deborah Hospital, and was Past Master of Masonic Lodge #126 F & AM. Bernie was a dress manufacturer, co-owner of Cherberg, Inc. and Marti Designs, Inc. He retired in 1985 and loved living on the beach in Ventnor, NJ with his adoring wife and watching his horses run. 91 years of sparkle went into his good-guy sheen. Bernie dignified the human adventure. Relatives and friends are invited to graveside services Wednesday 2 P.M. precisely at Montefiore Cem. (Sec. 1). The family will return to Paul's Run, 9896 Bustleton Ave., Phila. PA 19115 following services. Donations may be to a charity of the donors choice.
