BENJAMIN, June 15, 1918 - May 7, 2013. Survived by his wife of almost 73 years, Sylvia (nee Nowak); children, Ronna (Larry) Rutstein of Delray Beach FL and Harvey (Debbie) Newman of Sante Fe NM; grandchildren, Joshua (Wendy) Greenberg, Rachel (Kipp) Cohen, Rebecca Rutstein and Mike Stifel, Avi (Dianne) Rutstein, Abby Newman and Danny Newman; great grand-children, Eva and Sean Greenberg, Brandon and Ryan Cohen, Oliver and Miles Stifel, and Brady Rutstein.
As an entrepreneur in the automobile business in the 1950's, he pioneered "No Money Down" financing with Newman Ford in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. The slogan, "Zoomin to Newman" was popular through radio and television. Lee Iacocca had been the Regional Manager of Ford at the time and he approved the dealership to Ben and his brother, Joe. Ben was later presented a gold watch for outstanding sales nationally by Henry Ford II. Later in his career, he created Newman Land Development, and was involved with real estate development with his son in the New Hope and Blue Bell area. He moved to Boca Raton FL, with his wife 5 years ago, and remained active in business and investing.
