Belle Schwartz Perlman of West Chester, Pa. Belle Schwartz Perlman passed away on October 15, 2014, in West Chester, Pa. after a short illness. Born in Philadelphia, the daughter of Hyman and Sarah Schwartz, she had two brothers, Michael and the late Louis Schwartz. She was educated at South Philadelphia High School and married H. William Perlman in Philadelphia in 1940. She worked for many years helping to run the family pharmacies in West Chester. Belle was an active member of Kesher Israel Congregation in West Chester, as well as being a participating member of the Jewish community. She was an enthusiastic member of Hadassah and was a past president. She lived in the town of West Chester for years, until the death of her husband in 1980. She then moved to Hershey's Mill, also in West Chester. Belle was an avid and accomplished contract bridge player, playing on the Hershey's Mill team in West Chester. She taught bridge to friends and earned several Master's points. She is survived by her two sons, Alan M. (Elisha) Perlman and Elliot (Deborah) Perlman, grandchildren Lisa and Justin, and great grandchildren Simon, Talia, and Emerson. A funeral service will be held Sunday, October 19, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Kesher Israel Congregation, 1000 Pottstown Pike, West Chester. Burial will be at Haym Salomon Memorial Park. A meal of condolence will be held after the burial at Kesher Israel Congregation. Shiva will be held Monday, October 20, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the home of Lisa and Marc Harwood.
