Barbara "Bobbi" Stern, a beloved matriarch and pillar of strength, peacefully departed this life on July 22, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on September 25, 1932, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bobbi embodied a life rich with love, dedication, and unwavering warmth.
From the vibrant streets of North East Philadelphia, Bobbi and her devoted husband Harold built not only a thriving hardware business but also a legacy of partnership and perseverance. Harold’s dynamic leadership and Bobbi’s meticulous stewardship of the business’s heart—the office and bookkeeping—created a perfect harmony. Their combined talents and steadfast commitment shaped not just a successful enterprise but a foundation for generations to come.
More than her business acumen, Bobbi’s true joy was found within the embrace of her family. A devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she radiated kindness, generosity, and grace. Her home was a gathering place filled with laughter, stories, and the comforting embrace of family, especially during holiday dinners and sunny Sundays beside the backyard pool. Her love for her children—Ellen, Herbert, Stuart, and Amy—and her twelve treasured grandchildren knew no bounds, and it blossomed further with the arrival of six greatgrandchildren who carried her spirit forward.
Bobbi was preceded in death by her beloved Harold, her parents Joseph and Bessie (Marcus) Waldman, and her brother Herbert Waldman. Their memories remain forever etched in the hearts of those who continue to carry her light.
She is lovingly survived by her daughters Ellen (Cohen) and husband Tim Cossalter, Amy (Novey), her sons Herbert and wife Barbara (Ziv), and Stuart and wife Vicki (Weiss), along with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren who cherish her legacy of love and unity.
As we gather to honor Bobbi’s remarkable life, we remember a woman whose gentle strength, unwavering love, and generous spirit touched all who were fortunate to know her. Her legacy is one of bringing people together, nurturing joy, and leaving an indelible mark on hearts near and far. Bobbi will rest beside her beloved Harold at Montefiore Cemetery in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, July 27, 2025, where her presence will forever remain a guiding light for the family she so deeply cherished. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to a charity of the donor's choice.
May her memory be a blessing and her love continue to inspire us all.
