Barbara Hoffman

Barbara Hoffman, age 78, passed away on November 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with respiratory illness.

“Bobbi” as she was often called, was born in Philadelphia to the late Joseph and Rae Zelesnick and was a graduate of Northeast High School. Later in life, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business at Holy Family College. Barbara spent many years working in the banking industry, including managing branches and ending her career as an Assistant Vice-president for Bank of America.

In 1982, she married the love of her life, Mark Hoffman, and together they raised four children in Morrell Park in a bustling home that was filled with love.

Over the years, Barbara and Mark shared many adventures together, including visiting each of the 50 United States and most of the Canadian provinces. They also enjoyed spontaneous road trips and birding, and together they had an impressive “life list.”

Barbara possessed a kind and friendly nature, and had the ability to converse easily with anyone. Her door was always open to her children’s friends, who often gathered at the Hoffman home.

In addition to her parents, her husband‘s parents, Samuel and Etta Hoffman, her sisters-in-law, Goldie and Lenora, her brothers-in-law Albert and Arnold, Barbara is also predeceased by her Son, Hayden Lane Hoffman.

Barbara is survived by her devoted husband, Mark; her loving children, Samuel Hoffman (Michael), Chad Sherman, and Joey Sherman Kriwasch (Matt); her sister Estelle Lieberman; and a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends who will remember her fondly.

Barbara’s burial services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to any animal shelter.
