RATNER
ARNOLD, devoted husband to Elaine Ratner (née Taxin) for over 52 years; proud father to Abigail, James, Craig and Jane; dedicated father-in-law to Richard, Kenneth and Huyen, and loving grandfather to Matthew, Julia, Jack, Kate, Perry, Zoe, Justin, Lily and Josh, died peacefully on June 2, 2014, at the age of 87. Arnold grew up in The Bronx NY, graduated from Bronx High School of Science and City College of New York, and served in the U.S. Navy. He moved to Philadelphia, where he worked full time while attending graduate school at Drexel University, and met his future wife, Elaine. Legend has it that the motorboat, which was then his passion, became her engagement ring. He found-ed ARA Electronics, a sales representation firm, and his work there put his 4 children through college at Princeton, Penn, George Washington and Temple. He reveled in their achievements, and viewed them as his lasting legacy. He was a loyal (if often frustrated) fan of the Phillies, and watched their games until his dying days. He is mourned not only by his family, but also by the many friends he had in the Philadelphia area and beyond.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at 11:30 A.M. at
