Obituary

Arlene Savarese (nee Angelo), 83, of Broomall, passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 28, 2026.Loving wife of 61 years to Joseph Savarese, beloved mother of Joe Savarese (Amy) and Danielle Moore (Thomas); devoted grandmother of Joseph Dominick Savarese, Gina Marie Savarese, Maria Laina Moore, Sophia Renee Moore, and Isabella Lyn Moore. Dearest sister of Cecelia Angelo and sister-in-law of Phil and Jeanette Savarese and Patricia Savarese. Arlene was also survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Arlene was predeceased by her cherished parents Dominick and Minnie (nee Scaglione) Angelo, her beloved sister, Louise Angelina, and precious niece, Renee Wade. Arlene started her career as a hairdresser and enjoyed decades of this work alongside her sister, Louise. Her customers loved her and there were many laughs that filled the salon for years. She then accepted a position with Chester County Adult Probation that she held for over 20 years until her retirement in 2018. She took great pride in her work there and cherished the friends she made. She became the office mom and often shared advice and hugs with the “young kids”, as she called them, who worked alongside her. Arlene and Joe shared a lifetime together. They enjoyed many adventures and were truly meant for each other. Their love is a testament to devotion. Anyone who shared their company came away feeling good. They had been together since they were teenagers and still share the same friends that were there in the beginning of their relationship. Over 65 years of memories are shared amongst this group. Over recent years, they spent many days at the Wayne Italian Club and built a community there that they thoroughly enjoyed. Arlene was born to be a mother and grandmother. She cheered on all of her kids and grandkids, no matter what they were doing and only wanted them to be happy. From being a cheer and dance mom for years, to doing the hair and makeup for the Cardinal O’Hara production of Grease in the 1980’s, she was everyone’s mom and cheerleader. She never missed an event for her grandchildren and enjoyed every minute, always saying she could not wait for the next one. She loved her family with her entire heart and soul.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Wednesday, November 4, 2026 beginning at 9:00 AM at St. Pius X Church, 220 S. Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA 19008.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church at 10:00 AM. Interment, Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
