ANNETTE "NETSY" (nee Wolowitz) on January 6, 2014. Beloved wife of Marvin. Loving mother of Mitchell Black (Barbara) and Lauri Mufson (Michael). Dear sister of Elaine Charny (and the late Robert Charny). Loving grandmother of Daniel Black Mufson, Anna Black Morin (Eric), Lee Forest Black, and Haley Mufson Fiebach (Michael); and great grand-mother of Ruby Black Morin. Annette "Netsy" was born on September 15, 1931 to Dr. David and Lena Wolowitz. She graduated Olney High School and was a student at Univ. of Pennsylvania when she met her husband Marvin, upon his return from WWII and the Navy. They were married in 1950 and celebrated 63 wedding anniversaries together. Marvin and Annette lived in Phila., Greeley, PA and Longboat Key, FL. Annette was one of the first women elected to the Board of Directors at Congregation Adath Jeshurun (AJ) in Elkins Park and was the first woman member of the Board of directors to sit on the bima. She served on the Board of Trustees of AJ for many years. She was a Girl Scout leader, President of the AJ Women's Association and active in many charitable organizations. She was the recipient of the Israeli Bond Heritage Award. Annette was co-director of Pine Forest Camp, Lake Owego and Camp Timber Tops and served for 6 years as Executive Director of the Eastern Pennsylvania Section of the American Camping Assn. (ACA). She was co-founder of the Pioneers in Camping Foundation of ACA. Annette loved art, music and literature. She was a creative woman and beautiful inside and outside. She had an engaging smile and will be remembered with love by her family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services Thursday at Cong. Adath Jeshurun, 7763 Old York Road, Elkins Park, PA 19027. Visitation will begin at 10:15 A.M. and Services will begin promptly at 11 A.M. Interment Adath Jeshurun Cemetery. Shiva will be observed Thursday evening from 6-9 P.M. at The Rittenhouse Hotel. Shiva will continue Saturday night from 6-9 P.M. at the home of Barbara and Mitchell Black. In lieu of flowers or food, contributions in her memory may be made to Voices of Moss Rehab Aphasia Ctr. (VOMAC), 50 Township Line Rd., Elkins Park, PA 19027 or Abramson Hospice, Abramson Center for Jewish Life 1425 Horsham Rd., North Wales, PA 19454-1320.
