Anita Gloria Spitzer passed away on June 8, 2026, at the age of 99. She was born March 18, 1927, and grew up in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia. She was the devoted daughter of the late Leon & Minerva Ruttenberg and sister of the late Irwin Ruttenberg. She married the love of her life, Joseph H. Spitzer, in 1952 and spent forty happy years together raising a family.

She is survived by her beloved daughters Phyllis (and Dan) Rosenthal and Robin (and Harry) Kitter. She was the loving Gong Gong of Nikki and Michael Cohen, Amanda and Cade Goldenberg, Geoffrey and Adina Rosenthal, and Lauren and Nick DiFederico. She greatly enjoyed her great-grandchildren, Joey and Cooper Cohen, Bettina, Nili, and Atarah Goldenberg, Ori Rosenthal, and Remi, Ace, and Charlie DiFederico.

Anita loved holiday dinners with her family, being sure to taste everything on the table, trips to the shore and California, reading, shopping, talking on the phone with her friends and cousins, and watching her favorite television shows. She was a sweet and gentle woman who lived for her family and was loved by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to Graveside Services on Thursday, June 11, at 2:00 PM precisely at Shalom Memorial Park (Sect. M-1), 3573 Pine Road, Huntingdon Valley PA 19006. Shiva will be Thursday only at the home of Phyllis and Dan Rosenthal.
