Amy Sue Nathan Gropper

Amy Sue Nathan, 59, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on the afternoon of Friday, February 23, 2024.

Amy was born in Northeast Philadelphia on February 26th, 1964 to Sarah Watkins Nathan and Michael Nathan. She is survived by her parents, younger brother David, Uncle Martin Watkins, Aunts Glenda Fine and Linda Oltman, cousins Justin, Josh, Jonathan, and Ben, and her two proudest achievements; her son, Zachary Matthew Gropper and daughter, Chloe Brooke Gropper.

Amy spent her entire life as a fiercely loyal daughter, sister, friend, and protector. She always found the time to fill each of these roles, despite devoting the majority of her energy to the “only two things [she] wanted to be in life — a mother, and an author."

Amy built a thriving community of women’s writers, and her five published novels have been read by hundreds of thousands of people across the globe.

Tribute Gifts in Amy Nathan’s memory may be made to CurePSP (website: www.psp.org). Flowers, etc. may be sent to Amy’s parents.

The funeral will be held at Roosevelt Memorial Park in Trevose, PA on Tuesday, February 27 at 11:30am.

The family will be sitting shiva at the home of Amy’s uncle, Martin Watkins and aunt, Florrie Fisher on Tuesday afternoon, Tuesday evening, and Wednesday afternoon.

Contact the family directly for addresses.

Amy’s wit was as sharp as her lipstick was red. Her words were as powerful as her love was endless, and are with us forever
