ALLEN on October 25, 2024. Beloved husband of Rhoda (nee Caplan); Loving and proud father of Andy Katz, of blessed memory (Debbie Blum), Bruce Katz (Francine), and Lisa Gruber (Joe); Devoted grandfather of Aaron, Daniel, Josh, Scott, Celia, and Ari.

Allen Katz was a wordsmith known for his extemporary wit, charm and big smile. He came from a humble background and worked his way through a master’s degree at Drexel University to become an accomplished electrical engineer who worked on the NASA Gemini space project. Allen was an innovator ahead of his time, called throughout his career to solve problems no one else could. Science was his profession, but his passions were art and culture, sports, and his family. He and his loving wife of 66 years, Rhoda, spent equal time exploring all the arts and rooting on their favorite Philadelphia and Tampa Bay teams. He took great pride in, and provided sage wisdom to, his children and grandchildren.

Allen Stanley Katz was born and raised in Philadelphia. After raising their family in Huntingdon Valley, Allen and Rhoda retired to the Tampa Bay area. 

Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services, Wednesday, October 30 at 11:30 AM precisely at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Funeral Directors, Suburban North, 310 2nd St. Pike, Southampton, Int.
