Allen S. Honigman, March 28, 2021. Husband of Marilyn "Micki" (nee Pravdo). Father of Susan (Steven Dennis) and Marni (Neil Weissman). Grandfather of Jenna and Jacob Weissman. Brother of Lawrence Honigman (Jane Buchman).
Allen's life revolved around his family and nothing brought him more joy. Allen's devotion was constant. After fifty-nine years of marriage, Allen's face lit up when Micki entered a room. A proud grandfather, "Grandpop Al" enjoyed simple times with Jenna and Jacob, hanging on every word of their stories about the pet guinea pig or lizard, school, friends, and everyday kid experiences. Everyone looked forward to weekend visits, holiday gatherings, and family celebrations at Micki and Allen's favorite restaurant, Il Fiore in Collingswood, New Jersey.
Allen was an avid and enthusiastic reader. He spent many an hour reading. The story did not end with the last page; when asked what he had been reading, Allen was delighted to recount characters and plot with the hopes that someone else might also enjoy the book. A dialysis patient for the last three years of his life, books were an outlet, entertaining and helping him pass time during long hours of treatment.
Allen valued people and conversations. Allen never ceased to amaze family with the ability to share information on any topic being discussed. In fact, Micki never shied away from the opportunity to share that "Allen was the smartest man she ever met."
Allen will be remembered for his gift of goodness which he carried with him throughout his life and shared with loved ones, friends and everyone Allen met.
