ALBERT, January 7, 1916 - December 29, 2013. Husband for nearly 65 years of the late Laura (nee Lipsius). He is survived by two sons: Rabbi J. Leonard (Diane) Romm and Rabbi Edward S. (Marcia) Romm; and by grandchildren Rabbi Zvi David (Shira) Romm, Gideon Zev (Dr. Jana) Romm, Ariela Romm, and Dvora (Yair) Mizrahi; and 8 great-grand-children: Chava, Aharon, Miriam, Moshe, Beni, Ilan, Ori, and Noa. Albert worked alongside Laura for many years in their own real estate and insurance business until he joined the Real Estate Division of the City of Philadelphia, from which he retired. He will be remembered by many as a volunteer participant and leader in the life of his community, both Jewish and general. His interests included the Zionist groups of his youth, Bnai Brith, and the synagogue Beth T'Fillah of Overbrook Park, which he served as President during the 1990s. He belonged to the Neighborhood Council of Overbrook Park, was a volunteer ambulance dispatcher, and served for many years of elections in the local polling center. His family will forever remember him as a patriarch who successfully passed on the Jewish heritage he held dear to 4 generations of descendants who all had the privilege of knowing him in life. Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services Thursday 12 Noon precisely at Adath Israel, 250 N. Highland Ave., Merion Station, Pa., 19066. Int. Haym Salomon Memorial Park. Shiva will be observed at the Brith Sholom House. Contributions in his memory may be made to Boys Town Jerusalem, 333 E. Lancaster Ave., #351, Wynnewood, Pa., 19096, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
