
RESNICK, M.D. ALBERT B. RESNICK, M.D., 79, a respected psychiatrist, died at Abington Memorial Hospital on Friday, September 6, 2002. In a long career at his private practice in Wyncote and at many area hospitals, Dr. Resnick specialized in the field of Psychiatry. He earned his B.S. and Medical Degree from Villanova University and Georgetown Medical School, Washington, D.C. In the early 1950's, Dr. Resnick served as a captain in the Air Force, heading the Department of Psychiatry at Sampson Air Base, New York. Dr. Resnick also served as a staff member at Philadelphia Psychiatric Center, and other area hospitals. He was also a clinical associate in Psychoanalysis under the Advanced Study Program at the Institute for Psychoanalysis. For 10 years, Dr. Resnick was the Executive Medical Director of the Philadelphia Center for Human Develpment where he designed and had overall responsibility for diagnostic and therapeutic services for the clinic. In subsequent years, rounding out his distinguished career, Dr. Resnick served as a senior Psychiatrist at both the Philadelphia State Hospital and Norristown State Hospital. Many of his private practice patients stayed in touch with Dr. Resnick for years after their treatment program, and credited their subsequent productive lives to their association with Dr. Resnick. Dr. Resnick is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara, son Jerry, daughters Donna McLellan, and Susan Schwerin, sister, Estelle Paul and brother Daniel, and grandchildren Bodhi, Mercedes, Sara and Benjamin. The funeral service will be held at GOLDSTEINS' ROSENBERG'S RAPHAEL SACKS SUBURBAN NORTH, 310 Second St. Pike, Southampton, PA on Tuesday, September 10 at 2:30 P.M. Interment Shalom Memorial Park.
