ALBERT MOYER, Ph.D.

Albert A. Moyer, Ph.D., passed peacefully on Monday, April 12, 2021 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family and his private nurse, Melissa Naglak. He was the beloved husband of Sara (Mizrahi) for over 53 years and loving and adoring father to Anna Budovitch (the late Perry Budovitch) and Rachel Moyer, brother of the late Gloria Gubernick, devoted Uncle to Steven Gubernick and Ann Salomon. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Public Administration from Temple University, followed by a Master's Degree in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Doctorate degree from the Union Institute in 1977. He began his illustrious career as a Central Examiner in Jerusalem, Israel. He returned to Philadelphia where he held positions in the Managing Director's Office and Division of Aviation as an Administrative Services Officer. For eight years he worked as a Business Manager at the Department of Public Welfare, Youth Development Center in Philadelphia followed by Deputy Director for Administration in the Northeast Community Mental Health Center and Administrator of the Human Development Center. He retired as Hospital Administrator from Whitemarsh House in 1996. Albert was passionate about teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses at Temple University and the University of Delaware spanning 18 years. He was philanthropic to many causes, especially the State of Israel. As a kind accepting man, he loved meeting and getting to know people. Dr. Moyer treasured his family and friends. He was well read, spoke Yiddish and Hebrew, and could speak to many subjects with great knowledge. Albert enjoyed maps and geography, history and nature. He instilled the love of travel and adventure and cultural awareness in his daughters. He was a great teller of jokes and would delight in seeing people's reactions.
He will be greatly missed and remembered by his family and those who knew him. The family wishes to recognize the exceptional care and comfort his private nurse, Melissa Naglak, showed him the past 33 months. Contributions in his memory can be made to Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) or Chabad of Doylestown, Pa.
