ALBERT June 2, 2013. Son of the late Louis Gross and Bess Eisenberg Gross. Born May 20, 1924. Husband of the late Jacqueline Fishman Gross; and the late Phyllis Nimoityn Schwartz Gross; father of Maurice Gross (Keith Case), Marlyn "Cookie" (Robert) Gillespie, Mark (Joy) Schwartz, Karen (Natan) Abraham, Steven (Iris) Schwartz and Joel (Susan) Schwartz; brother of Peggy (Leonard) Greenberg, Joan (late Stanley) Gross and Eugene (late Lois) Gross; especially proud Zayde to Logan and Rachel, Jackie, Jon, Ali, Dana, Josh, Jodi, Jamie, Jessica, Jeremy, Rachel and Noah; also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews, all of whom made his life meaningful.
Mr. Gross was an 18 year old who served in the 42nd Rainbow Division in Europe where he was part of the lilber-ation of Dachau Concentration Camp. Upon his return from the War, he joined his father as a partner in the Ambler Market. In 1961, they, along with his brother Gene, opened the Thriftway on Girard Ave. Al and Gene went on to open the Port Richmond Thriftway until they retired after a 38 year partnership.
Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services Tuesday, 1 P.M. precisely, GOLDSTEINS' ROSENBERG'S RAPHAEL SACKS SUBURBAN NORTH, 310 Second St. Pike, Southampton. Int. Roosevelt Memorial Park. Shiva will be observed Tuesday through Thursday at the home of Maurice Gross and Keith Case.
