ALAN HANTMAN

May 5, 1944 — July 28, 2021

Alan A Hantman, 50-year resident of New Jersey (West Caldwell and later Parsippany) lost his long and brave battle with heart disease on July 28, 2021 in East Hanover, age 77.
Son of the late Milton & Gladyce Hantman, Alan was born and raised in Philadelphia. Alan graduated from Overbrook High School, before serving honorably in the US Army (1963-1965) at Fort Gordon Georgia.
Following his patriotic service, Alan had a long and distinguished career in sales, tirelessly traveling the states until finally retiring in 2011. Alan deeply loved his Country, politics, sports (especially basketball), 50's and 60's Rock&Roll, and Greek Diners. But, none of these loves were eclipsed by his love and pride in his family. Alan is survived by his three children; son Steven (Elizabeth Camp) of Livingston; and two daughters Michelle Scarabaggio (Marco) of New Providence, and Lisa Hantman of West New York; former spouse Ruth (Blady) Hantman of Warren; brother Stewart Hantman (JoAnna Gamble) of Chicago, and sister Linda Hantman of Rockville, MD; plus many cousins, aunts, uncles and close friends. Alan especially adored his four grandchildren, Talia and Ryan Scarabaggio, and Julia and Avery Hantman.
Relatives and friends are invited to Graveside services Sunday Aug 1, 11 A.M. precisely at Montefiore Cemetery, 600 Church Rd., Jenkintown, PA 19046. (Sec. H).
Following services will be a luncheon at Marco Polo restaurant, 8080 Old York Rd, Elkins Park, PA. Shiva will also be observed Wednesday, August 4th at the home of Michelle and Marco Scarabaggio from 5pm to 9pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association www.heart.org in honor of Alan's memory would be appreciated.
