AGE: 74 • formerly of Vineland

Adele Lee (DeRuchie) Miller 74, passed away on the morning of February 8, 2015. Adele was born in Vineland on October 14, 1940, she was one of four children. She attended Vineland High School, was a four year varsity basketball player and graduated in the class of 1958. She loved to dance, go roller skating and spend summers at the river growing up. She moved to Philadelphia in the early 1960s and was a career legal administrator. She was involved in numerous organizations including Woman's American ORT and the Linda Creed Breast Cancer foundation. She was one of the original thirteen women to form the Hope Afloat Dragon Boat Team in Philadelphia which competed throughout the Mid-Atlantic and New England. She also competed in the International Dragon Boat festival in Rome as well as the Philadelphia Dragon Boat Festival in 2009 and 2010. Adele was an avid traveler, loved the theatre and performing arts and looked forward to getting together with her many friends over a glass of wine or a meal, exercise, knitting or playing mahjong. She lived life to the fullest.

She is survived by a son & his wife, Adam and Cindy Miller, and granddaughter, Brooklyn Willow; also surviving is her sister, Carole Anne Barbaro; her cousin, June Rocco; her sister-in-law, Barbara DeRuchie, and many nieces and nephews. Adele is predeceased by her husband William Miller.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 11 at 3:30 PM at Goldstein's Rosenberg's Raphael Sachs Funeral Home, 6410 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA. After the memorial service, the Miller family will be receiving guests at 819A Lombard Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147 through Friday evening February 13.
