Adele (nee Brody) born May 25, 1940, passed away March 12, 2024. Daughter of the late Solomon Brody and Frances (nee Webber), she spent her life making a difference in the Philadelphia area. Adele was a proud Jewish woman, mother, and grandmother. She was a passionate advocate for the American with Disabilities Act and actively fought against the discrimination against individuals with disabilities. Adele was at the forefront of prosthetic research, volunteering her time and lending her mind to the Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute in Elkins Park. In her free time, Adele enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, spending time in nature, attending Shabbat services, jamming out at the Philadelphia Folk Song Society, listening to NRP, and volunteering at the WHYY. Adele will be remembered for her strength, poise, sharp mind, superb grammar, quick wit and thoughtfulness.
She is survived by her brother, David Brody, and her children Terri Fricker Speiss, Julie Fricker Porter, and Karen Fricker Frey as well as her grandchildren Briana Lynn Speiss Renkovski, Susan Mitchell, and Patrick DeTraglia. Family and friends are invited to her Graveside Service on Wednesday March 20, 2024, at 1pm at Montefiore Cemetery 600 Church Road, Jenkintown PA 19046.
