FISHMAN
A. MATTHEW, on April 10, 2006. Matt, as he was known to his many friends retired as president from Morris Fishman and Sons after 45 years and subsequently became a trusted certified financial advisor to many people who depended on him. At age 27 he was the youngest person in 150 years to become master of the Shekinah Masonic Lodge, he also served on the board at Beth Shalom. He moved from the Phila. area to Baca Raton, FL where he presided as cantor at the Shabbat Services at the Veranda Club where he lived. Throughout his life he pursued his interest in music. As a young man, he played trumpet in a band with Jerry Fine. In Florida he performed in a variety of shows including Perchik in Fiddler on the Roof. Even when he was not in a show he was always singing. Known for his sunny outlook, he greeted every person at breakfast at the Veranda Club by name. He was so well liked that his fellow residents voted him "Prom King'. Above all he was devoted to his family and they were devoted to him. Beloved husband of Mildred (nee Coopersmith), beloved father of Ellen (Samuel) Davis, Susan Orlins and Mark (Janet) Fishman; loving grandfather of Michael Davis, Michelle (Gary) Steiner, Wendy (Martin) Flannery, Katie Fishman, Eliza, Sabrina and Emily Orlins; loving great grandfather of Taylor, Jake and Dari.
